Fisher put up strong numbers for Utes
With one year remaining on her NCAA eligibility dance card, Skyline graduate Keisha Fisher is the fifth-most successful digger in University of Utah history.
With 26 digs Saturday during a 3-2 season-ending loss at Long Beach State, Fisher now ranks fifth at Utah with 1,110 career digs. Her 437 digs this season also rank fifth for a single season at Utah.
Similarly successful on the Utah defense, Idaho Falls graduate Danielle Killpack turned in nine blocks at LBSU to finish with a team-best 124 blocks over 29 matches. Killpack
also had 129 kills and hit .277 for the 17-12 Utes.
A little to the south in the Mountain West Conference, Rigby graduate and BYU middle blocker Nicole Warner finished with a team-best 134 blocks in 2009, adding 197 kills and a team-best .305 hitting percentage. BYU
closed the season at 15-14 on Saturday following a 3-0 loss at No. 21 Saint Marys.
Idaho Falls graduate and Utah State defensive specialist Laurel Bodily easily reached her sea-
son goal of 200 digs this past season, turning in 220 for the 15-14 Aggies.
Not content to rest on her laurels, so to speak, Bodily will spend most of her winter break playing on a travel team in Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia.
Football
Boise State freshman linebacker J.C. Percy honored his Blackfoot roots with four solo tackles and three tackle assists Saturday during a 44-33 win over Nevada.
Boise State is 12-0 with only Saturdays home game against 3-9 New Mexico State remaining on the regular season schedule.
Wrestling
Utah Valley sophomore Brad Darrington turned in a runner-up finish at the N.C. State Wolfpack Open on Nov 21, cruising to the title bout in the 174-pound brack-
et with three wins, including a pair of pins. The Shelley graduate lost a tough 3-1 decision in the final to Hofstras No. 11 ranked Ryan Patrovich.
One day earlier in a 26-10 dual
win over N.C. State, Darrington defeated Quinton Godley 4-2 to help UVU improve to 3-0 in dual matches this season.
