Tulane DE Scott to return for final season

Tulane defensive end Reggie Scott has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA because of medical hardship.

Tulane announced the decision Thursday and said Scott will return for his final season in 2009.

Scott suffered a season-ending injury during the opening game of his freshman year in 2004. He had another season-ending injury during the third game of the 2006 season.

Scott started 11 games last season and had 31 tackles, two sacks and one interception.
