Southern Mississippi headed to New Orleans Bowl
The University of Southern Mississippi announced Wednesday it has accepted an invitation to the New Orleans Bowl.
The Golden Eagles (6-6) will face the winner of Saturdays Troy-Arkansas State game on December 21 at the Louisiana Superdome.
We are extremely excited about going to the New Orleans Bowl, coach Larry Fedora said. This is a tremendous bowl setting. We hope that our fans will come down and support us and the bowl.
It marks the third appearance in the New Orleans Bowl for Southern Mississippi, which won the event in 2004 and 2005.

Georgia Tech to play in Chic-fil-A Bowl
Georgia Tech will not have to travel far for its bowl game.
The Yellow Jackets have accepted an invitation to represent the Atlantic Coast Conference in the Chic-fil-A Bowl, the school announced on Wednesday.
The selection of Georgia Tech (9-3) will be officially announced at a news conference later Wednesday.
The Yellow Jackets capped their season with a 45-42 win over archrival Georgia on Saturday. The Chic-fil-A Bowl will be played in the Georgia Dome on December 31.
